Girls and Boys club
- We had a great experiance while staying at the hostel. I bought a group of 14-17 year olds from our leardeship group dogsledding. Naturally they were aprehensive for their first stay in a hostelas the only referance point they had was a bad slasher film. We had a great time in the games room, the kitchen facilities were top notch and everything was healthy clean. The kids are even talking about backpacking now. Thanks guys

My Husband and two teenage boys stayed at the Hostel Bear three nights August 10, 11, 12. My purpose was to stay somewhere warmer than camping, comfortable for my boys to come and go as they pleased and affordable.
While you can't compare the Hostel with a 5 star hotel, it was a pleasant, comfortable and friendly place to stay.
The room was clean, personal bathroom cleaned everyday and the dishes (thank God) were placed through a sanitizer. So I am a Mom at heart and I cleaned the part of the kitchen I was about to use before I prepared food and after I used it, but really, it was OK.
I would recommend the Hostel to any young person or family.

- This hostel is awesome. The 1st Hostel I stayed in and it was great. The Staff are friendly, helpful and entertaining. Its so easy to make friends there.
The hostil is very new and the dorms are clean,there are curtains on each bed it you need your privacy. There is a big full bathroom in each room and the price per night $33.00 is well worth it. There is also a shower and bathroom down the hall, coolers to store your food and a washer and dryer. A Big flat screen TV downstairs in the kitchen area and a couple upstairs in the lounge area. People staying there are friendly As a single female traveller I felt safe and right at home.Thanks for all the memories

- ive stayed at alot of hostels in my travelling life and this one is hands down the BEST!!!! the crew tht works there are awesome and very pollite!! its a new hostel sooo i good to see all the things they have to comanate for everyone full kitchen rocks!! and the 3 big screen tvs and leather couches are a great touch!!!! thanks guy for my awesome stay and good luck and wanna see more hostel bears!!

I take the time to make this post because I really think this hostel is one of the best I've seen in my numerous trips in Europe, Argentina, US & Canada! The kitchen is greatly equiped, the dorms are clean and well thought. Each dorm has its washroom, the beds are confy, you can rent a laptop instead of waiting for someone to finish with the computer... and its is not expansive!
Thanks a lot to the great staff too! They really help you feel at home!

- The dedication the Owners and Staff made to get the Hostel Bear built, and all the hard work they did sure shows. I am grateful to see someone in the Community that saw a need for a Hostel in Canmore and had the determination to build one. They not only provided a Hostel but a mighty fine one if I must say. Nicest one I've seen myself yet, as it is fully decked out with a kitchen facility, coolers for your food, dining room, satellite TV, games room, bar, and really nice lounge area with a DJ system thrown in the mix. Extras are everywhere and are too numerous to list making this Hostel the best value in Canmore for the buck... well there is always camping in between 14 million cars a year whizzing by you and the Canmore Hotel which someone previously mentioned is actually a sort of, "Shoppers Drug Mart".
The Staff at The Hostel Bearis great and the Owners care about all the important things and are always available to help.
If your planning on spending a few days in Canmore on a budget then the Hostel Bear is the place to be.

- I had a wonderful momory of this hostel, even though I didn't stay the night. The staff there treated me like a queen. I stopped in for a few hours to dry off and to get out of the rain. I was ridding my motorcycle and got caught in the rain and I was very fortunate to have stopped in to this hostel. I was cold and wet and and the staff had made me a fire, answered all of my questions and I was able to get out of my wet clothes store my belongings inside from the rain, I guessed it helps when you walk in looking distressed and pathetic. Regaurdless I was treated with utmost restpect and I felt comfortable right from the get go. They saved me from hypothermia and from spending a shit load of money on a hotel. Thank-you guys!!
